AEPD organised a sport exchange for persons with disabilities from 7 clubs in Dong Hoi and Bo Trach district on Sunday 31 July. There were various competitions including badminton, table tennis and chess. 25 disabled athletes from 7 clubs participated in the exchange and representatives from the local authority and local people also attended. The event celebrated the first anniversary of entry into force and also gave the opportunity to people from the different clubs to meet each other. Thanh Hong kicked off the event with a speech about the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the benefits of the Convention to victims, the meaning of the sport theme and the urgency for Vietnam to join the Convention. Remarks were also given by the vice-chairperson of AEPD and representatives from three different clubs.
