ANBLC took part in an event on 4 August at Macquarie University in Sydney. A wheelchair basketball match took place that was facilitated by Wheelchair Sport NSW. Lorel Thomas, ANBLC National Coordinator, Tina McKenzie, a paralympian and Rick Engles, a rising wheelchair tennis star, gave some remarks before the demonstration match. Spectators then had the opportunity to join in and try playing wheelchair basketball. The emphasis of the wheelchair basketball event was on cluster bombs as a major cause of disability.
