The Netherlands

On 30 July there was a celebration in The Hague to celebrate the entry into force milestone and also to share the message that there is more work to do. With a percussion band and a group of volunteers, as well as anyone who wanted to participate, there was a walking route passing the embassies of Russia, Georgia, Israel and the United States. Together with a percussion band IKV Pax Christi visited the 4 embassies and handed over the Convention text and a drum, inviting them to join the beat to ban cluster bombs. Flyers were also handed out to the audience. A great deal of media attention was given to this action, as it was announced beforehand in a press release. A reporter from national radio was present during the event, and the two major news broadcasts in the Netherlands devoted time to the action. Throughout the day photos and videos were taken which will be posted on the website. Roos Boer did four primetime radio interviews concerning Entry into Force and NOS Journaal even did an extra item about the EIF that evening.
