On 1 August in Munich Handicap International Germany held an event in Munich with a photo exhibition, an audio installation sounding the voices of victims, a demining presentation on a large “mine field”, and large banners. They also carried out fundraising for their Victim Assistance programs at this event. The day before, a similar event took place in Rosenheim, and on 10 August another big event with drums and demining was held in Hamburg.

In Berlin, Action Group Landmine DE organised successful drumming events in front of the US and Russian embassies on 1 August. Flyers were handed out to the audience in front of the embassies. The media coverage was excellent, with the events being included in 5 TV reports, over 10 radio broadcasts and more than 25 print and online news articles.

The media response to the 1st of August was very good, with actions gaining coverage in many print and online articles, radio and also some TV reports.
