COUNTDOWN TO ENTRY INTO FORCE
On 1 August, NCBL began EIF with a speech in Basantapur, Kathmandu. This was followed by the lighting of candles that marked out the historical date, by the Deputy Superintendent of Police. A traditional music group also played the Khin Madal (Traditional drums) and the Bansuri (Flute). Banners were made and further information on the issue was spread using postcards and brochures. Given the nature of the area, dozens of tourists were also able to participate in the day’s celebrations.
