The Somalia Coalition to Ban Landmines planned a small event with the Ministry of Defense of the Somali Transitional Federal Government. The aim was to celebrate the historic event of entry into force; a press release was issued. This was also an opportunity to encourage the government to ratify the Convention and to encourage them to participate in the upcoming First Meeting of States Parties.
